I used to be a high level editor in the Dmoz.org, Open Directory Project forum (ODP) and I have started a new forum here about my time there and the Curlie.org project that is trying to keep the tradition going. I spent alot of time working for Dmoz.org as a volunteer and there was tons of drama and tons of stuff going on that nobody knows about that was not in it. The behind the scenes stuff. I feel like I can talk about this stuff now because Dmoz.org had such a significant impact on the Search Engines and especially Googles relationship with them and it has been like more than 15 years now. Hopefully people that were curious about Dmoz back in the day will post here because my goal is to become the prominent forum on Dmoz moving forward. Look me up as dmoz editor thehelper.
Dmoz.org
Dmoz.org was the first Human Edited Link Directory attempting to categorize the Internet with real, non spam websites. It succeeded in a major way but never got the credit it deserved. This forum is for the people that know about Dmoz and want to talk about it. Moderated by thehelper -...
