New race

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and above all I'm new to warcraft editor. I know it is a very complex program but I think I can learn to use it.

I'd wish to create maps where u can choose Naga race to play, maybe adding few heroes, buildings and units to it.

I'd only like to know if it is possible... Can I add a fifth race to the game?

unfortunately you can't..
but you could edit exsisting races so it fits the nagas..
like humans, NE, undead, orcs...

or, you can create a new race (just make all the units and buildings and stuff in the obj. editor) then at the start of the game, make a dailog for every one to choose from. that way, you can have as many as you want. if you need help on triggers, post a reply.

you could do this if you had a custom builder in-game where you added a whole other race that the builder could build...so where the builder would build the orc, human, undead, naga, and night elf town hall, and then have a trigger so where when you're town hall was built, the game would create the 5 builders that you usually get...but if you did this it would no longer be a melee map

then you could use triggers so when you use on of thm to build something, it kills the other ones.

I think to have understand what u said, if for builder u mean worker unit such as wisp or peon.

However both hobo's and pyro's solutions sound good, but if I understood, in hobo solution the builder could build the main base anywhere and this would change too much the game... Or this problem can be solved?

Of course map won't anymore be a melee map, but this shouldn't change the game, or it does?

The builder would be able to build the base anywhere. The only way I can think of to fix it would basically be pyro's idea. So just use his.

The fact that it's not a melee map doesn't change anything but that fact. If you wanted it to be a melee map, it technically won't be. It would technically be an altered melee map.

Lol, I am new here to! To the forums and the editor. Also i know NOTHING about triggers! I have so many ideas in my head but damn dont know nothing about those triggers!

Yea , theres a way too! But i dont know how. like on some map it had a added Race. ((forgot what it was called just start playing this after a year)).
