That's how it was in WC3, so I'm assuming that's where he's getting his theory.

What do Night Elves have to do with Rexxar? He is half-orc, half-ogre

KC's right, but even if we decided to throw his argument out the window, a Hunter is a form of "fighting" class and as such, goes back to the "NE Women are fighters, NE Men are druids" ideal.

Yeah, that was in Wc3 where you were given a character to use for a short time. In an MMORPG, if you could only make certain Gender/Class choices, chances are you would have lawsuits on your hand. Lets face it, thats how the world is now...

Technically, not really. Blizzard can always make up a false lore that the society humans have in this genre dictates that kind of thing. After all, with games about American history where women are "inferior" to men, you can't sue if you see things that are considered sexist or racist. The long and the short of it is that once upon a time, America was bloody discriminatory...

Maybe Azeroth was, once too.

I don't think it's a thumbs-down towards Goblins, just towards their racial abilities. They get free Engineering abilities (a rocket attack, a personal bank), a constant discount of 25% on purchases regardless of reputation, along with additional haste and stronger potions.

EDIT: Oh, and a rocket jump, which sounds pretty cool (nobody else gets a really cool racial, unless you think out-of-combat Worgen transformation is cool Q.Q)

If you compare them to the Worgen racials here, you can see that Goblins have far cooler stuff right from the start

Now, if that's not over-the-top for a set of racial abilities, I don't know what is...

Well it seems people think that my theory on why 'all night elven warriors/rogue/hunter-ish classes are female' is purely sexist or something. But it's not, I have the warcraft3 collectors edition and in it's artwork compilation they explained night elven society. It explained that the male night elves would usually all become druids and that the females would usually join the sentinels.

But a lot has deviated from that ever since e.g. the book also claimed that druids would only follow one animal deity (claw,talon,owl?) but in warcraft they seem to be able to master all.

So I don't know how far back the "right" lore is.... but this is how it was. But seriously people should be less serious about lore changing.... makes people sound so conservative saying that it's ONLY bad, Look beyond.

My only issue is with NE Mages because of the main stream lore around it. The NE mages are now Naga or Blood Elves. Or banished.

Don't forget the satyrs, and illidan. But then again Illidan is an exception... but I don't think we should be able to play as exceptions.
