I just had a friend re-install windows on my computer.

Everything is great, cept' i don't have any sound.

I don't have any idea how to fix this.

EDIT: I assume it has something to do with the drivers being missing or broken.

But, I'm not sure how to find what i need to download and/or replace.

I have had the same problem after I do a microsoft update for XP.

http://mojotechblog.wordpress.com/2008/07/17/xp-service-pack-3-audio-problem/
I followed that blogs instructions, it really is just flipping a switch.

Go to Start –> Run. Type in services.msc and hit the enter key.

A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to the Windows Audio service. Right click on the service and click the properties link.

Make sure that the Startup Type is set to Automatic.

Also make sure the Windows Audio service is started under the Service Status section. If it isn’t, hit the Start button and everything should work after you click the main window’s OK or Apply buttons.

If it is on, then you may have to fix your drivers, etc.

Everything is set as it should be under the instructions you gave me.

I've attempted to re -install my realtek'97 driver

However, it claims that the vista version is 64 bit only.

What to do?

EDIT: I speak lies!

I have since gotten the realtek driver to update successfully.

However, the source of my problem seems to be my "BCo #0 MainOut"

Once again, though i've isolated the issue - i think - I'm not sure how to fix this.
