Number Of Units In Unit Group

Hey got a short question:

condition: number of units in unit group 'ghosts' >8

Does my trigger run if the number of the 'ghosts' is 8?

If yes, then it's wrong
If not, then it's alright

It does not. ">" means greater than. If there's 8 units in 'ghosts', the condition would be 8 > 8.

Is 8 greater than 8? No.

I want a trigger to fire if the number or the unit group 'ghosts' = 0
But I can't find an event which tells the number of unit group

Do I have to make a trigger now which has only a condition and no event?

You have to use a condition and an event. If you only used a condition, then the trigger will never run unless you run the trigger from another trigger using the Run Trigger action.

In this case, the event you want to use is a Unit Dies event as dead units are removed from the unit group (I think that is correct). The only problem with this is that if you are removing the units from the unit group via triggers, then you will need to add a Run Trigger action to get this to work.

and what will happen if I only use actions in a trigger? Just for in case I want to run the trigger by another trigger

Then it will only run when you tell it to run.

Events are used to tell a trigger when to run. Conditions are used a check whether a trigger should run when it tries to run. Actions are just what the trigger does when it runs. The only way to get a trigger to run is via Events or using the Run Trigger action.

ahh so this means that I can SAVELY remove all my events 'elapsed time is 99.999 seconds'

( this was to be sure the trigger wont run to early )
