NVIDIA problems only when starting up

Hi.

I´m having a problem since installing a new GeForce4 440 MX card. All works fine, exept when I turn the computer off. After that when I start it the screen is full of stripes and numbers. I try to get into Windows in safe mode(normal mode doesn´t load, sometimes it does but normally freezes) to see what the problem is, and everytime the Video Driver has an exclamation point over it, saying "Code 10".

Now, if I reestart from there, it will all be back to normal. Sometimes I have to uninstall the driver and install it again, but most of the time just reestart will make it work. I have no idea what this could be.

I´m running a Athlon 2000 on a ASROCK K7VM2. I have downloaded the lastest Detonator drivers, but still can´t manage to find a solution.

I know it is easy but u should take the video card out then put it back in it may be loose , not in fully or just not in right

if that doesnt work uninstall the videocard and drivers not just the drivers then restart the PC and reinstall
dont use the plug and play install that pops up when the pc starts just exit out of that and use the disk that can with the card then update if need be

that should work if not it may be ur MoBo or MoBo drivers

code 10, i'm wondering if that's a WMD video capture problem, because i had the same problem with nvidia, and i tried looking through the net for it, and i haven't found any answers.

But the stripes and stuff all over the screen might mean that you have recieved a defective video card...?

Yes a defective video card, that was the first possibility I worked with. But the fact that the card works well after a few minutes makes this very unlikely. Or does it? I don´t know.

Maybe the problem is in the detonator driver.
Try using older version ex. 30.82.
Some games also has problem with driver version 4x.xx ex Zanzarah & Empire Of Magic. I've found this in another forum.
So get the driver and try.
