From within the Editor, with "test map", you can be "observer" on your maps...
Nice feature, for example for testing, like I did now, your own AI script.
Now, a custom race script doesn't, however, seem to be as easily testable
No prob, then. Make your own map!
Said and done.
Now, then, I do have a map with a random "standard melee" comp,
fighting my custom AI comp,
with me as observer (no buildings, no units, no nothing).
Works nicely so far.
But, of course there's a but, as always, I'm not a real observer...
Map vision and such, I have.
There is, however, the select-a-building-and-see-what's-being-built-there.
Or, you don't see what the current experience level of a selected hero is...
As an actual observer, as created by the World Editor, you can see all this.
My question then is, how do they do it?
I noticed too a game-action "allow observers"...
Hm..., well..., no idea what that one does.
Didn't notice any change.
Ideas, comments, anything?
Hope to read you soon
