You are more apt to notice the vocal and passionate republicans than the quiet and contemplative ones, so I think there is a bit of a selection bias here. Just be thankful that you can derive a bitter joy from their defeat.

Now.. Back on topic.

I noticed this video a while back, and I think it is a good time to consider the ideas he outlines here.

The thing about Obama is that I don't think he really understands what he's taking on. I mean, how many times has he gone off and visited any of the nation's we're having issues with and seen the situation first hand? Not a lot. And I know it seems like going there won't really affect you, that's how I was when I first went to Iraq. I thought I understood the situation there and all that, but after the first day my perception totally changed. And it's not because I saw combat there, because I didn't for the first month or so, but when you're actually there and you go talk to people about what's been going on, everything totally changes. And yet he talks about it like he knows everything. And half of the shit he promised he can't do because it's Congress or states that deal with it. Plus I hate Biden... although, unlike some people I'm not a total fucking dick about his VP choice.

Just have to wait and see what he does. And hope to God that he doesn't downsize the military....

Most Russians are Republican. Many mexicans are conserative, therefore republican. Many older generations of white americans are republicans. Most immigrants are republican because they are conservative. So how did obama win? Because of the young people and 95% of the african american population voted for him. So remove the african american votes around 15% (in 2000 it was 12.3%, with a slight growth it would be around 15%). That leaves the young people and some minor population of "other" voting for him.. So now we have a country of young people deciding our decisions? Now whos in-experienced pals.

Reasons why Obama won:

1) McCain got about 89% of the Republican vote. Republican vote doesn't necessarily mean conservative vote. Republicans have been trying to distance themselves from conservatives because they think they can get themselves more votes or something.

2) Minority Vote. Even though minorities are considered minorities because they are a small percentage of the population; when combined with other minorities it becomes a much larger percentage of the American population. Because his vote appeals to the poor and "weak" they gave Obama his vote.

3) Propaganda. Yes. I said it. Media is one sided. They promoted Obama while at the same time reporting EVERY negative thing that McCain and Palin did. Have you actually met these people? They could be good charismatic people, but instead the media had to make you believe that BEYOND A DOUBT they are useless, stupid, and ineffective. Everything they said or did was used against them. If your think I'm wrong, I could do the same thing to you if I had enough video and audio footage of what you said. Obama was just as bad as they are, or even worse. The only thing is that he covered up his stupidity, contradiction, etc. is because the media wanted him to win.

4) Liberal Vote. Liberals voted for him because they're liberal.

5) Poor Vote. He get's the poor because of the redistribution of wealth. Unfortunately, when you take money from the rich business owners one of a few things happen.

a) export jobs oversees
b) increase prices
c) fire workers
d) go bankrupt
e) all of the above

option a is already almost taken out due to him heavily taxing import/export, so that leaves the other 3 options which are probably worse.

6) Enviromental Wackos. The EARTH is gonna explode due to heat!!! It's gonna happen in the next 5 years!! We've been predicting the same disaster for the past 30-40 years! And yet, we're still here. Obama is essentially bankrupting coal and oil by heavily taxing any pollution, which LOSES jobs, not creates jobs.

7) Socialist Vote. Spreading the wealth + big government + controlled buisness = socialism.

8) Guilty Vote. Most any white American will instantly feel that they have money when they see a homeless person or when they have power over a black person. So when they see a black person run for president, they're afraid of being called a racist or something similar if they vote for the white guy. A lot of these people are driven by guilt, so they do this to feel better about themselves.

I did not vote for McCain because he's white; I voted for him because he actually knows what he's doing.

Probably others but I gotta run to class... if you disprove anything please link sources and say why I'm wrong. Sorry for wall of text but so far it seems pretty accurate.

A bunch of people I know were fired already because the companies they work for are trying to create a surplus of funds so that they can pay the taxes Obama's going to impose.

Well, on this site they say Obama emphasises particularly in these regions...

Also, this site says that, even though Obama hasn't a very broad traveling range, it is still respectable. They explain why in it.

Plus, in the Barack Obama Biography documentary I watched recently (which's timeline ended just before he was elected President), it stated that he traveled a lot being younger, to get in touch with many things worldwide. And, Obama has lived in a poor country (Indonesia), in a poor town, for a few years, which I don't think any recent President of the United States has lived as a life experience, up to now. So, he knows how it feels.

I really had to laugh at that post. Its like some cheap political propaganda.
And by the way, referring to one of your previous posts Varine, the world isn't only about war. I think McCain might even do a better job at protecting the US, but from what? Come on, its not like terrorism is somethhing you have to be scared of 24/7.

Security is important, but so is the economy, the environment and international relationships. Please don't think so onesided...

What happened the last time we weren't paying attention? Oh yes, someone drove planes into some buildings which caused this whole mess in the first place.

The environment can take care of itself. It has for the past couple million years it can survive another decade or twenty.

The economy is what jobs are about, how is it cheap political propaganda when it's true?

Yeah okay you only be scared of it 12 hours the time because they will only attack during the day. History has proven that hasn't it? That way all the rest of your time can be spent with the environment and economy! Because it's not like you can't just tell one of your many options of people to deal with one thing, and then another to be leading something else, while you preside. That's not how the Executive Branch works at all.

Oh man you gotta check this out. While the site may be a tad biased the information on the site is from the change.org site (obama's website)

1) President Obama to Bring Back Slavery
Given the conflicting nature of the statements, I'm assuming that the 'required' part was a stupid goof to begin with. After all, if it wasn't, why would they state it and then change it when it's pointed out? The campaign runs the site, not Obama. Them making mistakes or doing stupid things is no different than the multitudes of times McCain camapign supporters made mistakes and did stupid things. Yea, it's stupid, but at least they changed it.

First, you/the site just labelled every non-jew/christian in the middle east a terrorist, which is laughable.
Second, to combat religious extremism, creating prosperity (which education helps do) is the only functional long-term method. When people are prosperous and educated, they're generally too attached to life to spend all their time thinking about blowing themselves up or getting into gunfights.

If you hadn't noticed, the regions where people tend to become extremists are those where personal prosperity are limited. Admitedly, the overall GDP of some of these regions isn't always that bad, but in these cases it's often because the money doesn't trickle down. For progress to be made, there needs to be a functional middle class (or at least not absurdly-low-class only), and that requires education.

(this may or may not be considered bad depending on who you are, but it's still nuts)
3) Obama Will Give Illegal Aliens Amnesty
The only issue here is resources. I agree with it that some structured system needs to be created to deal with the issue, but I don't really see everything stated there being all that doable under his 1 or possibly 2 presidential terms.

The economy is what jobs are about, how is it cheap political propaganda when it's true?
He's probably pointing out that it's unlikely that tax adjustments are the reason for the job reductions. Which they probably aren't. There ARE layoffs taking place, but it's not due to future tax concerns; it's due to the huge economic crisis.

An actuarial science study showed that John McCain was more likely to die in office than Barack Obama is now.

Scientists put the risk of his death from his various skin cancers at 22% over four years. Add to this a certain percent chance of death by assassination or natural causes, and actuarial math says that McCain has a 1 in 4 chance of death in office.

I don't buy this. If it is part of schooling, and doesn't have the general trappings of servitude, then community service is not slavery anymore than school itself is. I can see how the author's massive bias might lead him to confuse the two, but he is mistaken.

As for the $2 billion supposed terrorist fund, what a joke. Part of my brain stem shriveled up and died after I read that article and realized that the author was seemingly unable to tell the difference between setting up an education fund and freely giving money to terrorists.

He probably will give money to terrorists. We've done it before because they're fighting people we don't like. Then they try to attack us once we're done.

Actually we'll probably be giving it to government, who will then spend the money for terrorist camps, weapons, and "schools". Or he'll give it to the government when they are just a front to a terrorist organization or with terrorists in control. Honestly it's not going to help at all.
