Outlook express problem

I have 2 computers one running windows 98SE and one running windows xp. The problem is earlier today I retrieved my email from outlook express whilst I was using the computer running xp. Later when I went to my main computer running windows 98 SE I found that when I opened outlook express the email that I had retrieved earlier on the other computer was not there. Does anyone know why this has happened? Both computers have outlook express 6 on them.

When you download a message from a POP3 email server (such as yours) it gets removed from the server. It is assumed that you have a copy and you are now responsible for it.

You can go to your other system and forward the message back to yourself. Don't check your email on the same system otherwise you'll just get the same thing again.

What you can do in the future is go to TOOLS--> ACCOUNTS --> choose the Properties for the mail account in question --> go to ADVANCED tab --> and say "leave a copy on the server"

Then when you check that account from THAT computer, it will leave it on the server.

Just make sure that there is a way for the messages to eventually get removed from the server, otherwise it will fill up your space on the server.
