Passive Faerie Fire??

How can I make a passive ability that reduces armor of target. Like a Faerie Fire but passive (User cant cast and isnt autocast) if there is a way to do this with out triggers im all for it but if i have to add a trigger i guess i will have to.

hmmmmm

a 'passive' ability is an aura.
simple as that
so to reduce armor......

1) allow negative values in your map. (this can be done in gameplay constants- look for it dont ask... its there and u learn more about the editor by looking)

2) make a new ability based off devotion aura. /

3) make the armor 'bonuses' negative values

if u want it to only target specific individuals...

then u can edit the 'targets allowed' and the range of the aura

for instance reducing the range to a melee range (100 or so) and only able to affect heros.

I meant like Faerie Fire so it only hits the unit being attacked not all the units in the aoe i have already tried the devotion aura ability like you stated and that isnt what i wanted. (Sorry am i to picky lol)

So you want to have faerie fire an attacked unit?
2 ways to do this.

This way is with triggers. It uses a passive ability that does nothing, fearie fire and a dummy unit(invisible, unselectable, etc).

Events - Units is attacked
Conditions - Level of <passivefeariefire> for attacking unit is greater than or equal to 1.
Actions - Create 1 dummyunit for owner of <unit> at position of <unit>
Order last created unit to night elf faerie fire attacked unit
Add a 1 second generic expiration timer to last created unit

This way is with abilitys only and is my recomended way.
Create a new ability based on Orb of Lightning(new). Its under items. Go down to Data - and change the chance to hit to 100. Change damage bonus to 0. Change Effect Ability to Faerie Fire and change Enabled attack to whatever your units default is.
