Hi, I am looking to upgrade my computer so most of the games I play (bf2, WoW,hl2) run great. I am a very big noob when it comes to computer parts so please explain so that it is easy for me to understand... My computer specs are.... Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4 CP2.99GHz
1.99GHz,512 mb of RAM. 9800 ati radeon pro videocard.

I am looking to spend around 100 so I was thinking about buying more ram and I found this... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16820145026
Would this speed up my games and how would I know if my computer will allow it?

What ram should I buy?


Also someguy said my board is restricting my proccesor speed and I should update my BIOS settings? Is that true and what can I do to stop that?

here its increase ur gameplay quite well becasue itll give u 728. u will need to remove one peice of RAM to make room for this new one as u only have 2 slots...I recommend Kingston becasue if u get the wrong type of RAM or if it isnt compatible they will replace it for free! and well they make GREAT ram!

and plus ur video card really cant function toits fullest with only 512mb. IF u get two of those 512 its will be even better.

or if ur willin to spend a nother 60$ get this one so will have about 1282 then u should be even better off.
 
so...what ram do you think i should buy...and how do you know if my computer will allow it?
 
Instead of throwing money at the problem, why not look at what you can do to optimize your system performance with what you currently have? Also, what exactly is running slow about the games? Do they load slow? Are they slow during gameplay? Do you have other things running in the background during gaming (virus scanners, adware scanners, web browser windows)? Any of these things can affect the performance of the games. Also, how long has it been since the drive was defragmented? How full is the drive? For the games you listed, adding more memory may help some, but it's not likely to improve your performance enough to justify the cost if there are other factors like what I've mentioned that are holding you back. You need to make sure to get those things fixed or you will still be unhappy after spending the money.

    I have two salmon, Sockeye and Atlantic. Atlantic is used for the kids salmon and the salmon and beet salad, and can also be added onto any dish or just as a side. Atlantic salmon will almost exclusively ever be FARMED, as it is endangered in the wild, and we ALWAYS cut them to 4 ounces.

    SOCKEYE salmon, very different and this IS wild caught. We have an ENTREE version, and an add on version. The entree is 7 ounces, the add on is 4. Why? Because that is how someone that wasn't me set up the computer.

    All in all though I think this summer is going really well. Some complicated things, but at the end of the day it isn't THAT big of a deal. Not all of our servers have quite realized they are technically sales
