So this shit is kinda crazy, this dude, Cleve Backster, whom I believe is known as the Father of the Polygraph, found out that you could hook up the galvanic response diode of a polygraph system to a plant to get some very interesting results. Namely, he came to the conclusion that plants can sense human intentions, and can feel pain of other living entities within a fairly large range.
Let it be known that the experiments are disputed due to the unacceptable controls they used (or didn't use, rather), but the experiments have been replicated many times by both Backster and his colleagues and many other groups, including the Mythbusters, all of whom agree that, if nothing else, there are some very, very strange coincidences.
