Plz Help Me With My Account

I know you can call me stupid. But i made a new account yesterday and i forgot to write down the account name! Then my cousin called me to help him with some guy pking him and i typed in my usual account name so the other one got deleted! I know my password. I know the character's name. I even have my
.map and .ma0, .ma1, etc. files. Is there any way at all to find out my account name from these files? Plz it would help me
alot. I have many uniques on that char and i don't want to lose them. My normal accoutn name is *Cuztrump.
Plz help me this is very important.

DUDE! Of course I would call you stupid (no offense). But what kind of idiot (again no offense) would forgot their account name?!?! Well... the best I can do for you if try your best to recall the account name... other than that, I don't think there is much you can do... (again no offense in calling you an idiot)
 
No offense taken it was a really weird long mule name which i was planning on writing down but i got in a hurry now i lost sum shit i guess :-(
 
Calling him an idiot won't get us anywhere...

There is a way to know your account name.

-Go in your Diablo II folder, then in the folder save.

-Click on the gateway's folder in which your previously created your account. All the information should be there.

If it's not there... I'll try to think of something else.
 
those files in there give character names NOT account names, I believe

there might be some type of log file (d2log.txt or something) that might contain the info you are looking for
 
oh it does huh... go to c:\program files\diablo ii\saves\uswest\ then you can see the "long butt" name you created

p.s. i didn't call him an idiot!
 
I still can't get it.

I have searched through all the Diablo II\saves\ files and can't find it. I am really upset, Anyone that can tell me how to fix it gets either a Titan's Revenge or a String of Ears 8%. please help me i don't have alot and i really want my uniques back :) PS Don't hate me i am not one the guys with 105+ SOJs , so these few uniques are very important
 
Unfortunately I have not owned Diablo II for about 6 months now. If I had the game I could look into my save folders and possibly find the information you need but since I ebayed it, I am quite useless for this kind of information.

So how can I provide Tech Support for a game I do not even have - well I just can - I am a freak like that :)

Oh well it is worth a try. Do you know of anyone at Battle.net that would be able to do it? I tried misc. e-mail addresses: [email protected] [email protected]. They were sent back. Apparently they dont have anonymous emailing hmmm. I did send one to blizzard and they sent me the response about not being able to change/find out your password. Damn Auto-Bots!
Oh well Hit me up if you find out anything.

I've searched all the files in the savefolder, but the accountname can't be found. Strange, since when you log on to battle.net, the last account to have logged in from my computer, is already in the username box. I believe that the username must be stored somewhere on the computer, just gotta find out where.
 
I have find a file that contains your battle.net username (not passwd so don't bother). But, I only have one account, so I don't know it it will show more than one accountname.

The file is called user.dat and is located in the windows directory (It is by default a hidden system file). It may be opened with wordpad or notepad, but don't mess around in it, and don't save any changes.

Anyhow, search the document for the word diablo. Then, you will find all user settings for diablo, among these, your accountname (s?).

Good luck, and remember, don't mess things up by changing anything in this datfile.
