How do you all Feel about the porn business and porn actors? Is it prostitution?

I personally don't think there is anything wrong with porn, and if they want to act in it, let them do what they want. Its not heroin, there is no addiction to it. After watching these videos I just grew to dislike Tyra as she comes off as a total bitch.

Prostitution is legal in some states in the US, such as Nevada. Most make the actors have to have biweekly, or even weekly in some, STD tests to make sure they're clean, which is how it should be.

well, educational, before a kid has sex typically they look at how its done.
phyisical, it is believed and staticstically proven (not scientifically) that whatching porn increases sperm count by volumes.
and For guys who can't get any in real life and need something to run off of to pretend to be doing it to a girl due to lack of ability to create a simulation in theyr head.

I do not believe that pornography can be considered prostitution. My reasoning is that the porn industry itself is considered an "Entertainment" industry. The actors on both ends are being paid. It's not just a girl being handed a sum of money to have sex with a gentleman.

Look at the root of currency; currency is exchanged for goods and services. Prostitution would be filed under a "service", whereas the resulting pornography from a sexual act being documented is a "good". Porn stars can also get royalties from websites they inhabit. If you buy a hooker, do you give her a couple bucks every time you think about how it was after the fact?

i really don't understand what your trying to say....

as for how it can teach, well for starters, boys don't know what a vagina looks like before they see one. i mean even those science-class vaginas are aither allways at a side, so you don't know how it looks like from the front, or are missing and all you see is nothing (both guy and girl) on these sex ed and science classes. I remember i had watched porn when i was 10 and the like (blowjob porn) and i didn't know what a vagina looked like till i started watching that humping around.

I'm not a fan of Tyra, she's got to be one of the worst TV-show hosts. Every other word out of her mouth is like "I can't condone this." Then says "I can't speak from experience." Then moments later is nodding her head in agreement and says something idiotic like "I understand you." (To which she will have previously said "I don't understand how this makes sense to you).

Then a few caddy remarks later that just belittle her guests, she makes some generic life lesson message like "Don't die." Gee thanks Tyra, I never thought of that.

The annotations were insightful I thought, not at all a hindrance, more educational then the video on its own, that's for sure. I checked out a number of the citations and they were all "Legit" (At least when it comes to the internet, things appeared to be true).

I find it eerie that the Tyra show, and the youtube video (posted by AntiPornographyBlog) are both clearly opposed to pornography and the 'horrible shock value' of what individuals such as "Sasha" do. Meanwhile their making their money about documenting it, then documenting the document.

So much for not condoning it in any way.

I think the large problem with pornography is that it's not like most other businesses, things aren't regulated as much and it has a tendency to prey on people out of greed. If someones being 'used', its less likely for any one participating in it to want things to be regulated.

This can trickle down from porn 'actor', to credit scams on sites that distribute such videos, to just insecure sights with tons of viruses on them.

The girls on the show I think are extreme examples where the girl has a questionable background, and questionable motives. Plus their young. They also get paid to go on the show, so motives really are difficult to sort out. (Gee thanks Tyra.) There are certainly girls worse off, and some not in so over their head, but regardless of what level of control they have over their lives, I think the more regulated side of the porn industry should tighten some of the laws.

Starting with raising the minimum age to something higher like 21, and only accepting getting girls who have completed high school. Or perhaps do something ridiculously ideological like putting the girl through adult high school if they haven't graduated. So they don't get stuck in the 'porn loop' with no way out. Its not realistic, but it probably would be beneficial to the individual.

Also more large pornography companies should be easily contacted so that 'Gonzo films' can be avoided. While they are cheap and have a tendency of knocking some sense into the young women/girls, its still an experience that really isn't a good one. Plus signing with a large pornography company that is regulated will stop it from being a split decision for the individual to make, as well as overall 'safer' in relativity to other potential film makers.

OH GOD YES. i know i was, and have been just as bad and worse in the past when i first joined, but people pressured me and i got better, I just want to do the same, my english has gotten much better altogethar since i moved to the U.S aswell, i am rather proud of that.

hardly anyone is forced to become a pornstar, (not to be in porn, there is a lot of illegal porn videos with forced sex, or drugged woman that if found should be reported) becoming a pornSTAR has a lot more too it, they must take the std exams for example, but i do think that there should be a number of films they can do in a certain amount of time. If you where to catcha std, it would help in tracking the spread.

Who said anything about love? You can have sex without having a committed thing going on, often called "One night stands" or "Friends with Benefits".

Lets face it, a lot of people like porn, so it's a profitable business to be part of. They make more money, or at least the more popular "models", make more money than most people.

Interesting opinion. Think about this. Fresh bride and groom get married and they are on they're honey moon. They decide to video tape their sex night. Now, lets say this video gets out. This is still considered porn and very common among celebrities. Does the video camera remove the meaning of the sex? Are the bride and groom not making 'love'?

About the original question. Porn actors are prostitutes by definition:the act or practice of engaging in sexual intercourse for money.This is ofcourse if you are talking about the porn industry/business.
