I wanted to go print a poster at fedex office, but I'm not 100% sure on how it will come out as I have never done it before. The image I want to print is in 300 dpi and the dimensions are 4000 x 5177 pixels. If I kept the print at 300 dpi, it would only be something like 1' x 1.5'. Obviously I don't want the poster to be this small. How low can I take the dpi without the resolution on the actual poster looking bad? I know most images on the internet have a dpi of 72 (or something like that), but I don't want to go that low. I figure blowing it up to twice the size, or decreasing the dpi to 150 should still look good and give me a pretty good sized poster. Anyone have any experience with this?

That depends, how close are peopel going to be seeing it?

I wouldn't advise droping below 200 as Whitesock said, I wouldn't advise going to 200 either.

Well, I don't intend on people putting their faces in it. I already stopped by the place and they are making some proofs, which I will go back and check on in a few. Thanks for the help.
