Problem getting to B.net Forums

Hey,

Is it just me, or is anyone else having problems getting to the Battle.net forums?

If it is because of the announcement due here in *checks* 18 minutes, I can understand. But I had this problem yesterday as well.

If i click on the link for "Open Technical Support" it would say

Battle.net forums restarting, please wait....

I can't try any of the others cause the site is taking forever to load now. :)
 
That messages comes up whenever the forums are down for maintenance... its normal especially during high traffic
 
They closed them down temporarily to shut people up about the countdown timer, too much bandwidth was being used and they knew it would happen.
Also, because they need to upgrade them for whatever they're announcing, so why not do it now when it's convenient?

Ah ha..high traffic.

The one scenario I didn't think of.

Thanks...I'll wait another 4 minutes for the announcement and all the network traffic to Blizzard before I check again.

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

    The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.

    That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.

    I remember the whole javascript thing, question - how many real people disable that?

    Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after

    Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
