problem with imported icons

i HAVE read the tutorials about importing stuff and i can import skins for models, but when i try to import icons they dont work. i change the path to the ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\(filename).blp and then on my ability i try to change the icon and i bring down that list of imported icons and i pick the one i want and then when i play the map in the game the icon is just all black. whats wrong?

You must save your map first and quit World Editor before your icon will show up.

Did you make the icon yourself?

If you didn't post the link where you got it, exact link.

This most often happens when it is a "homemade" icon. If you made it in tga format and converted to blp, just leave it in tga. That should do it.

no matter what icon i go to thats the exact url i get every time

but if you use the search, the icons are BTNPoisonTouch and BTNmw, neither one of those worked for me.

well there are many other problems with that site besides frames. i click on a link and it doesnt do anything for like 5 seconds and then it starts to load the next page but stops. sometimes it only loads part of the page, sometimes it just doesnt do anything. and that is the only website i ever have problems with

Be paitent on that site, it will load eventually even if you think its not.

The PHP is messed on the site horribly, thats why it looks like its not loading, or VERY slow.

yea i did that thats those are the paths that i am using but when i actually play the game its like the icons arent even there its just black and i can click the black space to use the ability

Is this happening for more than 1 icon? Because if it is your probably doing something wrong (although it sounds like your doing it right).

Also, you could try re-importing the icon.

And finally, check your (dashed=\) are not /, and make sure you've got no spelling mistakes.

More than 1 icon? (because if it's just one it may be corrupted).

it happens with both icons and i've tried doing it over again and i get nothing. can someone try to import it for me? i'll attatch the map and the icons.

there are only 5 custom hero abilities so it wont be hard to find the abilities, i want PoisonTouch to be the icon for Spirit Theft instead of the Life Drain icon. and i want mw to be the icon for Form of the Wraith instead of the Vengeance icon.

1) Convert your blps to tga (get WC3 Image Extractor II - link is on left side of screen - click "External - Tools and Utils")

2) Download Photoimpact - link is in Custom Icons tutorial

3) Simply open the tga icons and resave them

4) Import the tga icons into your map.

must have been a problem with the icon because now i tried different icons and they work must have just picked 2 bad ones
