Problem with moving camera with keys or mouse

On my wife's laptop, when she tries to move the camera view either by using the arrow keys or by putting the mouse cursor near the edge of the screen, the camera moves almost instantly all the way to the edge of the map in that direction. Changing sensitivity settings don't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

She uses Windows XP in case that helps you solve this issue.

You mean does she hold the arrow keys? Well, usually she just uses the mouse, but I've tested it with the keys and it bears the same results. You have to "hold" them for the camera to continue moving or else the camera stops moving. However, that's when it's working properly. Now if you press any of the arrow keys the camera almost instantly goes all the way in the at direction until it reaches the end of the map.

SOMETIMES... if you just barely tap an arrow key, you can get it to sorta "inch" over in the direction you want, but it'll usually still go to far. It's as if the camera panning movement speed is increased exponentially for some reason.

Also, this doesn't always happen... sometimes, it works normally. I hate to be so vague, but it is what it is... and I wanted to know if there was anybody out there who ever experienced a similar issue and found a solution.

Can I see the map, could be the maps problem.
It's not the map. It doesn't matter what map, and last time i saw her have this problem she was playing campaign mode, too. This problem has also occurred with both an older and updated version of the game. It must be the laptop somehow...

  • The Helper The Helper:
yeah California is not anywhere you really want to live
  • The Helper The Helper:
That is why I did not take the job Blizzard offered me back in the day, there is no way I could have moved my family there on what they were offering, not even close and that was like 20 years ago
  • The Helper The Helper:
yeah they wanted me on the tech support team when they did not get me they got one of the next MVPs in Dinobot
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dinobot was one of the youngest of the MVPs tkron probably could have worked for Blizzard but he had a good job in Chicago doing business programming already
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dinobot probably still works for Blizzard would love to reconnect with that guy

I've got some friends in animation department who have been applying for Blizzard, doing interviews and such. They said the workplace seems nice, though now it'd be all remote work I suppose
  • The Helper The Helper:
good for them I live close to Austin and am trying to get my kids interested in getting into Games but not having much luck. I would never let them move to Cali.
  • The Helper The Helper:
    unless it was huge money
  • The Helper The Helper:
and even then with the taxes I really could never let them move there
  • thewrongvine thewrongvine:
Haha fair enough, I have no interest in CA at all as a living place either. Really only here just for the work in LA, but hopefully once I get settled enough in my work, I can move out
