Who would have thunk that they would have one?

Warcraft III patch 1.25 is now available on the PTR. If you'd like to help us test out this patch and provide feedback, open up the game client and select the "Westfall (ClassicBeta)" gateway to begin downloading the latest patch. Once the download is complete, restart the game, log into Westfall, and you're set. (To resume playing on live servers, simply select your regular gateway and you will be reverted to the retail version of the game.)

For information on what's changed, be sure to check out the PTR patch notes listed below (we are aware the patch notes are not currently available in the patch details itself).

Warcraft PTR Patch 1.25

Fixes

* Warcraft III will now write its registry keys on launch.
* Widescreen (stretched) resolutions should now be available in the Video options.
* You can now purchase items from shops while Hexed.
* Scroll of Town Portal will no longer be consumed when casting fails when used at the same time that your Hero is Hexed.
* Hex will no longer extend the duration of Metamorphosis.
* Hex will no longer disable mana or health regeneration of Heroes.
* Wisps Detonate ability will no longer drain mana from Heroes while under the effects of Potion of Invulnerability.
* Fixed an issue where players were able to ally with opponents when alliances were locked ("share hack").
* A gold exploit with buildings has been fixed.

Please note that replays are incompatible between major game revisions. This means that 1.24e replays cannot be viewed when using the 1.25 version of Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

I'm guessing they are also fixing the preload hack, they probably just don't want to mention it, at least until the patch goes live. Let us hope for hidden patch changes. :D

EDIT: I updated to 1.25.0.6394. Doesn't seem to have any additions editor-wise.

It's about time.

I find it amusing that Blizz is still making gameplay patches to this game. It's player-base is still huge, but the vast majority are either mapmakers themselves, or players who only play custom games. With that in mind, it makes me wonder why they make changes like "Night Elves - Warden Shadow Strike mana cost increased from 65 to 75" instead of improving the aspect of the game that could really use it: the World Editor.

You know, I thought the exact same thing. But when I went to the forums, every one of the posts there are in regard to the melee changes. :p

That would take a lot more work. :p

I think I found a hidden change. ExecuteFunc() no longer crashes when you provide an invalid function name. :p As of 1.25.0.6394.

EDIT: Preload hack still seems to work. lol.

I just patched back to 1.24 and it seems that you are right. Well, that is depressing. :p As far as I know, no changes for WE were made in 1.25.

49 minutes ago, it arrived on my doorstep (it;s 00:49 GMT now).

And, most strikingly, the host bots are gone! I cannot describe what warm feelings this brought to my heart!!!! :D:D:D:D It was like liberation of Bnet from the monopoly of bots and opening it for the small hosters (like me).
<3 Blizz.

Although it's probably a matter of time before bots are readjusted and start to take over the custom games again. Also, it's more laggy like this.

I can't seem to autoupdate to this version on WinXP32. It says it downloaded, needs to restart, and...never actually restarts. It says this every time I try to go on BNet now. Time to download the standalone updater I think... [edit] ...which isn't yet available. :banghead:

Also, there will probably need to be a 1.25b (c?) shortly, since Mac users got hosed.

Can't find the patch in blizzard's ftp server, did they take it out?

@Weep
Dude, could you please give me a copy of the common.j for 1.25 if you have the time. Thanks.

No problem, I was just wondering what bliz changed in the common.j. Still, thanks for the time dude.

I ordered like five blocks for 15 dollars. They're just little aluminum blocks with holes drilled into them
  • Varine Varine:
They are pretty much disposable. I have shitty nozzles though, and I don't think these were designed for how hot I've run them
  • Varine Varine:
I tried to extract it but the thing is pretty stuck. Idk what else I can use this for
  • Varine Varine:
I'll throw it into my scrap stuff box, I'm sure can be used for something
  • Varine Varine:
I have spare parts for like, everything BUT that block lol. Oh well, I'll print this shit next week I guess. Hopefully it fits
  • Varine Varine:
I see that, despite your insistence to the contrary, we are becoming a recipe website
  • Varine Varine:
    Which is unique I guess.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Actually I was just playing with having some kind of mention of the food forum and recipes on the main page to test and see if it would engage some of those people to post something. It is just weird to get so much traffic and no engagement
  • The Helper The Helper:
So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air
