Question on prgrming

Ok, im new to programing, and well i wanted to learn, so i found some VTM's on a site that give intros and tutorials, but can someone mabey give me a link for a Downloadable (compiler (i think thats wut its called) that is free?

You need to tell us what language you want a compiler for.
