A Wiseman once said to me:
"Be professional and couteous to everyone you meet...

He also said:
"Aim high in life but watch out for flying boxes".

“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”
-Charles Dickens, Tale of Two Cities (+rep to whoever knows which character... looking it up takes all of the fun out of it)

Hansen: "When you're landing a huge plane on a tiny aircraft carrier, it kind of decides your fate. If you land perfectly, you're in the Air Force. If you land and blow up the ship, you're a Marine."
Student: "And if you miss the carrier altogether?"
Hansen: "Well, I guess that puts you in the Navy, doesn't it?"

Please take that down, it is very offensive to me.
I'm american, and I do respect that we each have pride for our contries (assuming you are canadian) but Pride like that causes problems.

Get all the fools on your side and you can be elected to anything.

So that's how so many idiots got to be President of the United States.

When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion.

Exactly.

I've often thought the Bible should have a disclaimer in the front saying this is fiction.

Lol. I like that one.

A myth is a religion in which no one any longer believes.

Yeah.

To believe in God or in a guiding force because someone tells you to is the height of stupidity. We are given senses to receive our information within. With our own eyes we see, and with our own skin we feel. With our intelligence, it is intended that we understand. But each person must puzzle it out for himself or herself.

Yes!

When you want something really bad and you close your eyes and wish for it-- God's the guy who ignores you.

W00T.

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Yeah, enough about religion.

If all the rich people in the world divided up their money among themselves there wouldn't be enough to go around.

Greedy bastards!

Lack of money is the root of all evil.

I'd say "Greed is the root of all evil," but then again, this is too true to go against.

It is pretty hard to tell what does bring happiness; poverty and wealth have both failed.

Horrah!

Yet you have no issue with the quotes that involve religion, even though they could offend people...

It's a joke. If you can't deal with a joke, don't come to the thread. I'm positive you'd have no problem with a pro-USA quote...

Edit: Silly me, I posted in the quotes thread but forgot to include a quote.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
