Random DVD playback errors in WMP 9

When I play a DVD, it randomly stops or randomly skips the audio and video. I've tried Windows Update already, and no updates were available. Any help is appreciated.

Is there any option to change to another DVD player? If the problem still occurs we can go from there.

WMP9 is well known to be an extremely poor performer when playing DVDs. There are no solutions as far as I'm aware.

Bottom line: stay away from Microsoft products if you want to enjoy DVDs.

I tried Videolan and similar problems occur with it. No freezes, but the audio is choppy and skips around. It does with with multiple DVDs, so I am reasonably sure it isn't that.

Well go try out DivX player next, and see if that works.
If audio seems to be your only problem after this, try to upgrade your audio drivers.
