Random numbers

I was going to give four different integers random numbers but every time i restarted the map it got the same numbers. (How random is that? =) )

How do i solve this anoying problem?
My whole map idea needs random numbers.

How are you setting them random?

Are you using the preset function?

I think i solved the problem now. When you test play your map throu world edit it always uses the same "random seed". There was an option under preferenses in world edit that removed the "Fixed Random seed".

This "problem" actually only exists while testing from within the editor.
On Bnet or directly from the game, it's gone.


On a related note, if you take 100 random numbers between 1 and 10,
and the result is:
1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 ... 1 1 1

Well, that IS random

Sure it is! But when every time you request a number to a random algorithm, it returns the same number, you begin to think about the randomness of that algo.

As AceHart said, it only hapens when testing from WE, not when played under BNet or from Warcraft III => Custom map
