Range "Upgrade" Ability

Is there a way to make an "ability" that raises your range and, possibly, your attack speed? I want something similar to the Stats attribute "ability" in my Virtua RPG.

For attack speed, you can use the "Unholy Frenzy" ability, remove it's buffs and set it to alst like 9999999 so it will last the game. You could make another ability off of Channel and make it non-visible so it seems like the "Unholy Frenzy" abiltiy and your range abilty are the same. For the range ability, the only thing I can think of that I couldn't find was to hide your hero and make a new hero that's the same as the one with the ability and through triggers set the levels of the abilties and level of the hero to what the previous hero's were. Hope this helps.

While it is a little more durastic, you could do it with the WEU editor. You could make the spell a dummy ability, and then when its used, you can raise the attack speed and range of the unit through triggers.

Oh, that would work. Nice idea, sk8er. More efficient.

I don't have WEU, but I CAN do this in the default editor.

There are passive abilities that increase speed already; l like endurave aura, that you don't have to click or set to any duration, because there is no duration.

If this is a hero, use an upgrade for range bonus, and whenever he learns a skill point, up the upgrade level by 1.

Fire Arrow Safely as an ability is a "dummy ability" taken off of attribute bonus. It has 10 max levels, for which I suppose I can add to, since there is a hero level max of 500.

Fire Arrow Safely as an upgrade is a copy of Long Rifles and hopefully it can just apply to the hero--I'm not letting riflemen be owned by any player, but perhaps I can make sure this is the absolute case.

What is the difference between the increment and the base? I presume that if I make the base and increment 50, the upgrade will grant 50 extra range, then 100, then 150, and so on.

And last of all, I don't feel like copying and pasting the basic fields of the upgrade and ability, such as the name and tooltip, over and over again. If I leave it blank, will it be the same as Level 1's "value"?
