Real Life Business -- A Map Idea

When I'm done with VirtuaUnlimited, I plan to try this out. Hopefully you can give me some suggestions either in the form of triggers to do what my current ideas suggest, or more ideas.

Basically you have your business building with desks and crud. At the end of the long room is the Boss himself with two abilities: Shout and Fire.

As an employee, you get exp from SLACKING (leveling up will give you special abilities like Hire double, which will talk to the ladies whilst you work or work whilst you talk to the ladies. Or, sleep so you can lull the Boss to sleep so you can slack some XD) and you can get some entertainment from talking to the ladies, who will only marry you if you talk to them (I'll have to make a complex trigger system of text or something). And, the only way you can talk is to walk near them. Walking near them is slacking, and the Boss can fire you in that case.

So if the Boss sees an employee going off his circle of power (beside his working desk), he has to Shout to scare the employee back to his spot (this will take some doing). If the employee keeps slacking, he can be FIRED.

But, to balance things, the Business has to pay its leisurely tax of 1000 gold every 20 minutes. It will take six human user employees to create that much gold (you get it from nowhere in particular at the end of twenty minutes per units working on their circles of power for at least 15 minutes straight). If the tax isn't paid, the Boss's business sharehold is damaged by 500 (in a small boundaried spot is a building with 10000 hp representing the Boss's share of the business).

And if you're fired, you have to get your way back into the company because every 20 minutes you have to pay 200 gold tax on your house, for which you receive 300 gold at the end of 20 minutes if you have been working for 15 minutes.

What do you do with that profit you ask? You buy add-ons to your house and gifts for the ladies. And (heheh), you can buy lawyers.

Lawyers can be bought for a sum of money and are rated (horrible to awesome, and obviously the higher the rating the more expensive they are). For two minutes, they can pound on the Boss's share via sueing (not an ability--just attacking).

On the boss's side (you get profit if you have more than the required six to keep the business running), Economists can be bought for the opposite side. With the same ratings, they can repair the share faster than others.

If the share reaches 0, the owner of the killing lawyer is established as the new Boss and the old one is turned into a citizen.

And time will go on and on until you want to quit. You can get married and have kids, but the kids will never grow up. To get rid of the crappy view of how life is usually lived, you may not "cheat" on your wife. Ladies will only congratulate you when you talk to them and gifts won't sway their mood.

So what do you think?

A very good idea. I suggest not just having a business, but leting people leave their job and live on the streets or something. I also suggest making the business a Warcraft style job but with more recent time system, if you know what I mean. I also suggest maybe making it in a castle perhaps? You know, back then castles were HUGE and held villages and stuff (if you've ever learned the middle ages in history class lol). It's very good idea but may I suggest making it like middle ages and having people take other jobs such as guards, merchants, and other stuff and maybe be able to become king when they get a high enough ranking? I might be going s little further han your idea, but it seems better to have different type of jobs instead of having one single business you can work at.

I could do that. I just need to figure out what the layout should look like in that case.

(And on a side-note, yes I did know that they contained villages--I'm keen on history, actually. The original idea for castles were not as forts like the American idea, but as either the whole town itself (incased in walls) or as a protection. Ideal description would be to have farms around a moat around the first layer of wall. When the people come in to siege with their trebuchets, the villagers quickly run inside the first layer of wall. As that is taken, they quickly run into the Castle itself. Double layer wall with a guard tower or two, the castle centre holds the ruler of the castle town's feudal system, of course. It also serves as a protection under siege, with storehouses of food and wells.)

great, a map that reminds ppl of their normal lives, in a game that some ppl come to to get away from their normal lives.

lol im just kidding

actualy that sounds like a pretty cool idea, i'd like to see it happen

Your summary is most accurate :D

I really hate these LoaPs out here. They suck so badly. I will continously repeat that playing little Children jobs like either sitting around and doing nothing or see how many times you can click something to get gold is stupid. I will also mention how life is not all about drugs and sex and getting caught by "unfair" Police officers where you then get released because, for some reason, a stupid ordinary citizen can be a _%#&%in judge.

yeah i agree, i really never got into loap's. I tried one, and well lets just say i really didn't think it was worth playing again. i was completely confused how to do anything (Maybe im just an idiot) but it wasn't that fun. I think the idea of loap's is good, but we need one worth playing.

I wasn't confused. The goal was to level up your "hero"/citizen by doing a simple job and then power him up to rebel on the Police with either drugs or books in the shop (I can't believe that looking at a Comic Book or a Porn Magazine could do ANYTHING to upgrade a skill *Sigh*).

The Drug Lord sells drugs and uses drugs on himself to basically become a cheap demigod. His units, however, suck.

I'm confused about the role for the Police. You just DON'T constantly take fees to release people for drug use and raping.

The Triad messes around as well. Their cheap hero has access to special items for which they can then proceedingly rob the bank and then use cash to buy drugs.

So all in all, it's like any Warcraft game. You beat up everyone if you feel like it--you don't have to automatically.

There is nothing I can do to really change that goal except this thought that rushed to my mind.

Once a human is King, a large force of violent humans (I might make it more realistic and get rid of always having the evil ones be Undead or Orc--why not people of the same race?) come from the east. It's this new king's job, since a lot of managing skill will be required to get this far up, to gather the users and trainable troops and go destroy the rising up base. If the base is destroyed, everyone wins.

And once you're King, you are able to order the execution of a user every thirty minutes. Users have to help you get to your goal, so you best not kill the helping ones. The idea of execution is to kill the stupid fool users who do nothing but sit around and make the game miserable for you and do not leave until you force them. Just a side-note.

-------------------------------

Anyway, Virtua (NOT a LoaP. It is a Runescape-like RPG. It is an 'open' RPG with incredible balancing. There are no stuns, and no other cheap effects) is coming along great. I'll get you a basic version with a fully completed Archer (at least fully completed in the stats upgrading standards-- not the living skills like cooking and fishing) available and a half-completed Swordsman. The map will end eventually, and there are only a few bosses. Still, I suppose it should take about fifteen-thirty seconds of your time. It takes a while to level up if you play solo, since players are too weak for the countryside rogues and corrupt policemen.

I have been working on a whole new loap for about a month or less now and i should be done with it in about another month. Unless i get help...

And what qualities does it exhibit? Just want to know if you have any chance amongst the battle.net population :)

So Confused

Im lost... im tryin to find out how 2 make a tax system (like in City Builder, if u played that). I typed in tax trigger and it brought me 2 this page so i was wonderin if ne1 could help me out please...
