recipes "you know like in DotA"

G-day, I'm making a map and I'm real proud of it. I want to know how to make 2 or more specific items in a hero's inventory turn into 1 groovey better item .

I have tried so many differnt things and spent hours looking on the net for answers.

Events:
Unit gets an item

Conditions:
Item is one of item 1, item 2 or item 3
Hero has item 1 and item 2 and item 3

Actions:
Remove items 1, 2 and 3
Create groovy item for Hero.

Ace.. you render me utterly confused. I cant find things like "unit gets an item" but i found "unit acquires an item" but that was under specific unit event. But i want all heros for all players to be able to do this recipe thing! Does that mean i have to put in the event for all heros that i've made?

You wouldent happen to have a trigger that works so you can paste what you have done onto the forum so i can see just how do do it.

Or mabe explane a bit better. Please i need to know, its KILLING me!

        Item - Remove (Item carried by (Hero manipulating item) of type Mask of Death)
        Hero - Create Shaman Claws and give it to (Hero manipulating item)

I cant find: Conditions
((Hero manipulating item) has an item of type Crown of Kings +5) Equal to True
((Hero manipulating item) has an item of type Mask of Death) Equal to True

Can you tell me what to look under in the conditions list?
