Registry Key Correupted

I've tried installing d2 with and without expansion several times and connecting to bnet, but it won't automatically update for me causing me to get kicked off bnet every time. When I manually try to install the patch it gives me the error Registry Key Corrupted, what do I do about this? Thanks

well i had same problem and i did system restore to cure it you dont have to do system restore but it worked for me and i have no problems

 

[Rapmaster]

uninstall the game

run regedit.exe from Start Menu--> Run (be careful in this program)

browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software and highlight the Battle.net entry ... push delete on your keyboard

If there is a Diablo 2 entry under there, delete it too (it might be under "Blizzard Entertainment, but just delete the Diablo 2 one)

then go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and do the same thing

then reinstall
