Removing Doodads with Triggers?

Hey everyone,

I am trying to remove a doodad (w/ footprint) using triggers.

I can get rid of the actor model with:
Actor - Kill actor model (Actor for Foliage - Xil - [39.50, 139.50])
but how do I get rid of the foot print?

I'm not sure if this can be done, but instead of doing it with a doodad, you could use a unit with the footprint, making it neutral, unselectable, undetectable, and have no minimap icon.

Use either the Remove Doodads In Region or Kill Doodads In Region.

I tried both Remove Doodads In Region or Kill Doodads In Region I guess I will just make a unit lol....

How do I attach an actor to a unit?!
So I made it a unit and now I am trying to attach the actor to the unit.

I went to the actor then events and added

UnitBirth.Foilage
- Create XilFoilage(Actor)

I get this error
Unable to create unit actor. Creating fallback sphere unit.

I have looked around for tutorials but couldn't find a good one.
How do I attach an actor to a unit?!

Basically, you have to make sure that the actor is a unit actor and in the top of the list of fields, you should be able to set the unit that it links to.

As a matter of fact, you CAN remove doodads by trigger (remove doodads in region)

I've faced the same problem a time ago, and I've seen you CAN'T remove footprints but doodads are surely possible to remove


(I tried to open a gate by removing the doodads but the footprint wont wouldn't work at all)

Yea It seems really silly that we can't remove footprints. I need to learn how to create unit and start working with actor more.

Thanks everyone I am going to start working on making the unit

assign an actor to a unit to create the next event in an actor:

event: unit birth (your unit)
action: create

you must also create an event that destroys the unit when is has killed
