Removing one-animation special effect instantly?

Hello,

One of my triggers creates a special effect using an aura model. Problem is that it's supposed to be removed one second later with DestroyEffect, but it still stays for several seconds. I think this happens because the aura has no death animation, so it is forced to complete it's only animation before it can disappear.

What can I do to make it disappear instantly?

You could move the effect far out from the map, where no player can have the camera!

Maybe you can try putting a dummy unit and giving it the effect, and then move the unit away.

Well, now this gets complicated..

I'm using GetLocalPlayer so the effect is visible only to one player. Creating an entire unit for only one player (or hiding it from others) would cause desyncs. Only other way I know of making unit invisible to all with effects still showing is not having a model, but a modelless unit doesn't have attachment points either, so I don't know if I can attach a special effect to that..

That's what the commonly-used dummy.mdx is for. :thup: Search for it, use it on your dummies, attach special effects to them, and be happy.

I think it's possible to alter a unit's transparency setting for local players to duplicate the effect of a special effect only visible to one player.
