How can I make a unit return lumber to a lumber mill that does not belong to the owner of the harvesting unit?
I wish to make a lumberjack job in my level, and I want several lumberjacks to be able to harvest wood at once. How?

Does "select unit" share the "return lumber" ability with the owner of the selected unit?

both moderators are busy, satara is on vacation, and so help isn't exactly around whenever you need it.

This forum is a free service, and so you should expect the service to reflect how much you're paying for it (although we've given a hell of a lot more than that over time).

I don't know how to do this off the top of my head, but I'll look into it.
 
It's not the time that makes me think that you're ignoring me, but the fact that my questions are answered very late in comparison to the others. It's far from the first time now that I noticed that.

Although it's rather annoying, I don't blame anyone for not answering my questions, but I wonder why no-one does.

About the "free service" notice:
Answering people's questions on fora is a hobby. Besides, most members answer as much questions as they ask questions.

Its prbabaly because of the fact that you`ve been in this bussines for a while now, and your questions arent as simple as the ones new members ask. So in a starange way you could think of it as a compliment :D

About your question hmmm... Well I know that peasants can return lumber and gold to their allies mills, but as far as i know they wont do it automaticaly. You could experiment and try to make a completely new system of harvesting lumber, but i would really advice you to create multiple mills for every player.
And if the point was for them to harvest lumber for another player, then just give their lumber to him after they bring it back.

Ryoko and myself gain virtually nothing from being here and answering questions. But we still do it nonetheless, for a variety of reasons.

And satara is correct, you are at a more advanced stage of mapmaking than the average person here, which is why it takes longer to answer your questions.
 
Are you certain, sATARa, that peasants can bring lumber or gold to allies' lumber mills or town halls?

If so, I could perhaps use triggers to solve my problem.

Uh… Is there any "returns resources" unit event or something?
 
you could make a lumber mill with no pathing then you could put a bunch of them on top. (It's kinda crude but it would work I think.)
 
Make a custom lumber mill.

go to pathing - pathing map in the object editor and make that none.

Now go to unit palette and put a lumber mill for each player at the same exact spot so they overlap eachother. I don't know what it would look like probably crap but try it anyways.

Umm… Me neither. You think you gain anything from hobbies? It's just a way to kill the time -before it devours you- just like designing a Warcraft III Level or reading a book.
 
The main question is what is the lumber for, and who should get it.

p.s. Reading a book "devours you"? Someones been spending too much time playing warcraft i see :D

The lumber is automatically converted into gold when acquired.
