Ever noticed that Skeletons are underused, underpaid, and generally just plain ignored in most maps?
Sad world...

So, here's the map that's going to change that.
There's basically two options(*):
- you'll never again want to even come close to anything even vaguely related to Skeletons
- you'll simply hate them
- you definitely never again even so much as look at them

(*) or three or more...

Revenge of the Skeletons

A custom free for all map by AceHart.

The usual [del]suspects[/del] rules apply:
- train troops
- raise an army
- kill anything that isn't yours
- I still don't like long drawn-out maps
- I still don't like maps where nothing happens
- you may add a computer player or two or plenty more if you want (yes, you do want)

Recommended setup: 10 players.

Mages

Your most important, strongest and almost only Caster.
He raises the entire rest of your pathetic excuse for an army.

Crypts

Train Units.

Can be taken over by beating them into submission.
They will surrender to whoever dealt the most damage (<- read that again).

Defeat

When all of your Crypts and Mages are gone, so are you.

Victory

- Last man standing
- Whatever is still standing when the timer expires

How to play

Well, start the game, load the map, put plenty of opponents, ...

Any and all comments welcome.
Have fun.

Yours,
AceHart

Q: Those comps are unbeatable
A: Cool

Q: Those comps play lamer than Bob the Builder
A: Cool

Q: Seriously though, I just can't beat them!
A: Cool

Q: My Mages die like flies!?!?
A: Works as designed

Q: After some longish battle, the comp came with something called "Greater Dark Minion"; where the heck did that come from?
A: From his Skeleton Warriors

Q: Um, what?
A: Units gain experience from killing, or casting for Mages

Q: They all expire though
A: Yep

Q: Mages too?
A: No

Q: Actually, I could win just by hiding a Mage in the corner?
A: Works as designed

Q: This would be fun for team-play
A: Not really, no

Q: This wouldn't work for team-play
A: Not really, no

Q: <...>
A: This concludes today's Q&A session

Final notes:
- The map looks poisonous green. That's by design.
- Yes, there is a Furbolg in the map.
- No cliffs anywhere.
- /me likes replays, especially multi-player
- Unfortunately, no Bothans whatsoever died in the making of this map.

Can't be played in multiplayer the way it is now (there is no Team 2, won't start with no opponents).

Ace, I got 2 things to tell ya...
First of all, Nice Undead Map :p (I lov playing as Undead)
and last but not least, Skeletons are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to underestimated. These Weakings are so Hardcore when in Masses :p (Well, Necromancers is a must in Skeleton rush :p... And don't forget the Meat Wagons with their Corpse Abilities... xD)
Btw, i could help out on the Terrain, if you like.

>Btw, i could help out on the Terrain, if you like.
Meaning that AceHart's terrain is a bad in a way :p..

I'd love to play this in bnet with people, but god damn I cannot host :). I like when at least one person is making good short games.

Nice map, short and fun.
Computers pwn me though...

Especially like all the sarcasm in the post

Lawl.

Now that was fun :)
I actually won on the first try, could it be that your AI skills are slippin'? Well, anyway, the comps don't seem to know how to counter the flying creeps, made things much easier.
Though they got some skeleton orcs at some point, there were only two, but they wiped the floor with my units, how can I get some? Are those just leveled versions of the normal skeletons?

> there is no Team 2

Now there's three of them...
Crap though.
I want, well, no teams at all, but still on fixed race and "not allied to anything"... well, whatever.

> how can I get some?

You really do not want any...

12 player, full house replay.

Also, I think the game is another great one.
Though sometimes there's too much going on. :p

Love the Map ^_^, something else I love, whosyourdaddy :D

*Tries to think bad about game* Darn too perfect!!!

9.9/10 (No ones perfect :p)

Replays are great.

- only 1-2 people ever use Shades to see what's going on
- "defeated" players should get vision of the map, so staying around actually makes some sense...
- the end stats should also end all other activities, not just prevent defeat
- most people never noticed that Skeleton Warriors are your main force, especially early on
- most to all people don't seem to realize that you can train stuff much faster from several Crypts at once
- most people never expand... you can't win when you don't!
- it ain't over 'til it's over. Goes for lone Mages too
- even the world's largest army is gone after a mere couple of minutes
- victory doesn't necessarily mean you owned. You may win by simply surviving
- there is a Crypt in the middle on the left border!
- Maidens of Pain are part of the "I don't like maps where nothing happens". They are not a threat, but you still need to kill them!
- alliances wouldn't work. Other than having (even) shorter games
- if you don't find, or can't be bothered to find, people, use comps. All slots preferably

" It is an error to die with a weapon yet undrawn "

If your Mage goes down with 150 Mana near a Crypt full of corpses...
More Crypts, more training, longer life.

While one Mage is enough to own (obviously, that's all you start with), it won't do in the long run.

It was pretty fun though boring since it gets repetive after a while.

I got like 400k food suddenly and my score ended up having -1 food in this map. No idea why.

> 400k food

Impossible.

> my score ended up having -1 food

That's (mostly) normal...
The game in general and this map in particular don't agree on food usage.

Though, it's either that, or the expiration timers don't show anymore...

I'm always wondering why admins/mods map gets 5 stars immediately.

I just cannot beat CPU's.. I think they can do something that I can't..

> I think they can do something that I can't

Mana use...

Comps never miss an opportunity to raise yet another couple skeletons, or cast Blood Lust, or heal troops.
People do.

Which is good :p

I guess that 23th time tells the truth :)..

>On topic, though. I found that the CPUs were neither that great or that bad....
I lose to CPU(Easy) in normal melee.. Maybe this kind of games aren't my thing.
