I have no idea. I haven't played around with ROC since it TFT came out. Can you use abilities that have no effect?

(yes it is, lucky me I have off this week. :D )
In Roc editor there's no Ability editor, Import Manager, or anything fancy-shmancy. You got your Trigger editor, your object editor, and your map. lol..
I think I'll use a text-based system, with prompts when you're supposed to roll, move, or something else.

I got an idea.. The usage of dices is essential in a game of Risk. BUT, it is what makes the game slow. Im sure you know how long real Risk games can last.. Anyway, 1st idea is to put a timer on each player's turn. After his turn is up, then you move on..
2nd idea is you eliminate the usage of dice. For battles, units are "transported" to this mini arena where they whack the hell out of each other. What makes this different? You use a high damage difference that would make the attacks really random. Like for example, make one player's infantry have damage around 2 - 175. I think you get my idea right?

Yeah.. Anyway, Beta tester here available. :)

The timmer would be a good additon, but make it like if the player does nothing for 30 seconds their turn ends.

I think that the second idea would make it too far from the real risk and more like the one that is out already, which by the way I finnaly played. I liked it, but a real risk definatly needs to be made. :D

Yea.. I once had a game of Risk with my cousins that lasted 3 days. We literally played the entire time. We ate while playing.. lol
I'll definately put in a timer, to elimate the AFKer problem, if nothing else.

And yea, this is meant to be as much like the real Risk as possible, so I dun think the second one will work for it. Good idea though.

Thanks for the suggestions!!

3 Days thats you longest. Me and my 2 brothers play Risk every Chirtmas ana we once played for 9 days, but we had beraks of about 4 hours to sleep. I remember once we finished its was like 5 AM and we all slept till like 4PM.

But since it is a computer generated roll it should go alittle faster.
Its beceause they all hate you  .
:D

You should make a site for it. FreeWeb.com :D
PS:Got my CD!! woot!!

That would be wonderful. :)
Do you have TFT editor? If you do, do you know if you can import images into a map and still save it as RoC? (It would be nice to have them as fade filters that show when you get a country.)
Also, the Mission Cards. I'd like to have those display for a certain amount of time, and then I'll create a text based system, so they can be like
Player: "-Missions"
Game: [Which One?] -Displays list of country cards for that player-
Player: "1"
Game: [Kill blah blah kill yellow blah blah]
Ya know what I mean? I can do the text system, if you can import the cards and such.

I'm very limited on time, so I haven't been working as much as I'd like to. I'll upload the map ASAP, though.
Thanks for the help :D

Signed ya up. Thanks for the support :)
Please know that there will be no testable version for at least a few weeks, because I'm very limited on time. :(

Even though its a very old thread but still I feel interest! Im sure the game has made already by OP. However can I get the link to play or purchase the game/software?

I'm quite sure there is already something made like this. The previous one was very slow, try find a way to make it faster paced or perhaps if turn/time based, then some way to keep the players busy and something to avoid players becoming bored.

However, I'd like to beta test. Sign me up.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
