Well, time for me to dirty my hands in the editing process instead of playing my friends games. Here is the description:

We are looking to make a 2-player only co-op RPG that will have quests and other things to do. We have everything written out and designed on paper, just need to put it into the editor. It doesn't really have a theme, so basically anything goes (that means classes, items, names, quests, etc.).

So far, we need people to:
-Design Terrain (we don't really care what it is or what it looks like, remember, no theme at this moment, just as long as it's detailed and probably huge or epic sized)
-Come up with quests (Names of quests, what you do to complete them, etc.)
-Come up with names (Item names, Character Names, Town Names, etc.)
-Come up with classes and abilities (They can either be custom or branched off of TFT heroes and such) SIDENOTE: The 2 players will choose their heroes at the beginning of the game out of a total 24 heroes, so create 24.

This RPG will be made by trained map makers (I am not really trained, so I will be supervising) who live close to each other, but we can't do everything ourselves, so we're counting on you "masters" out there to help us. We specifically chose to create a non-themed RPG map so it will be unique (i.e. too many Final Fantasy rpgs on Bnet already) and it will test everyone's skill and imagination since they have nothing to go on.

I apologize for the length of this thread, but I wanted everything to be clear right away and it is my first post on this site. 100% credit will be given to everyone who helps on this project. Thanks for reading everyone!

Alrighty, first of all since you have no "training" on the map maker you shouldent be making such a map for the first time. You should start out with a simple map for test to see your skills.

And second, we here on The Helper.net dont appreciate people asking others to do their work for them. (this is what i understand your asking)

And third, if you have no training on this kind of stuff you shouldent be the one supervising, its like asking the client of a construction job to supervise, (which isnt correct) you should be asking one of the more trained people to supervise.

Sorry if you think im flaming, but most of us dont like to hear people asking for others to do their work for them. *i understand that you will be giving 100% credit but you have to atleast do 50% of the work to be given reputation for it*

Best Regards,
:D Coke :D

PS. Im just looking out for my fellow friends here at Helper.net

Yes, you completely misunderstood me. I will not be participating in the creation process whatsoever. I have simply supplied the ideas, concepts, and layouts for the project. The people that I will be working with have created many maps that are this in depth and know what they are doing (I have the ideas, just can't put pen to paper so to speak, which is why we're doing so well so far). We're not asking for people to do our work for us, it's more of seeing if people want to take part on our joint project. After talking with my friends that will be working on this project, the only thing we will really need HELP (not work, just guidance) on is triggers. I understand you have tutorials on here and we've been reading them, but if anyone wants to aid us, please let me know.

UPDATE: I was informed earlier that we have settled on a theme, and we're going to be focusing on a Morrowind themed RPG.

I understand where you're coming from Coke, but you were misled, we're doing about 90% of the work, just looking for more ideas.

Yes this is what i was understood as needing people to do work for you, but sorry if i was misled, if i was it was by this part.... And if you need people to do this part it is about 70% of the work, making the ideas is the easy and fun part... The hard part is puting it all into triggers... (its alot harder then you think)

Best Regards,

I can help you out on any trigger thing you need, but so can almost everyone else here, so if you have a problem just post up a thread and you WILL get help.

yeah just post your trigger you need help with here.. but first please take a look in the editor..

I jumped the gun and got carried away folks. We more than likely won't being needing any guidance except for a few triggers, which I'll post later. We want it to be as authentic of a W3 Morrowind Themed RPG as possible, so there will be hundreds of custom items and quests...oh boy, haha. Thanks for all the advice.

Just a tip - don't go overboard with custom models, icons etc. because before you know it your map size is too big to be hosted on B.Net (im guessing it's going to be multiplayer on B.Net) and then you have to go through the painful process of selecting models and icons to be removed.

Guys just a heads up I am going to be shutting the site down soon. I am just waiting on the NUON people to decide whether they want to transfer forum data and keep the discord. My email is [email protected] for anyone that wants to keep in touch and I have a facebook too. I will make an official post later. Love you guys and will miss everyone!

Oh no - please don't lose the Nuon content

  • The Helper The Helper:
Someone email AtariAge and see if they want me to transfer the forum data over to it
  • Ghan Ghan:
Could probably keep NUON stuff around here if we wanted.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Hmm what to do about the World Editor site though?
  • Stephen Stephen:
I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
  • The Helper The Helper:
There will be a github of the forum data so the NUON Forum Data I guess would be available there
  • The Helper The Helper:
World Editor is technically Ryoko stuff not mine you guys can keep that I am not in that even
  • jonas jonas:
:( end of an era :(
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dont think of it as an end jonas - think of it as a beginning, because really my friend that is what it is.
