save web page as image?

so I want to make a map from this page, and I don't want to have to stitch together a lot of pictures, so I forced it to show a huge resolution and just use scroll bars - now, how do I save the result (which I can view) as a jpg or similar?

Hit print screen. That copies a screen capture to the clipboard then you can paste it into whatever image program you want.

the problem is the image is much larger then my screen - and yes, I suppose I could go and take 50 print-screens and stitch them together and so on, but it seems like there should be a better way

I believe the gimp and irfanview both have screen capture utilities and they are both free.

I don't think you understand what I want - try going to the web page I linked to above, and give it a few seconds to load - notice the scroll bars? the area is 8192 x 8192 pixels - I want to capture that as a jpg or png image (yes I realize it will be quite large)

You can use Firefox addons such as Screengrab or FireShot to capture the entire web page as an image.

I tried that but sadly google maps fails in chrome

I think it might have had something to do with me hacking the map size to be uber-large, but yes.. it is ironic
