Search Areas - Excluding Casters

I'm trying to create an immolation ability and everything works except that it deals damage to my caster. On the damage effect, I have set the Search - Exclude + property to Caster and excluded self from the Search - Search Filters property. I'm sure it is just something simple but can't seem to figure it out.

I believe that the exclude part should be on the actual search portion and not the damage portion.

I'm not actually using a Search Area Effect. Instead I was using the search area properties of the damage effect which I think is actually used for dealing AOE damage. So I added in a Search Area Effect and it is working good. Thanks for your help. +rep
