Social media influencer Angel Murdock spent nearly two years documenting her journey through Duke University's prestigious physician assistant program on social media.
There were videos of her studying, wearing scrubs and heading to clinical rotations. She posted about the long hours and sacrifices required to get through PA school, and even shared advice with other aspiring PAs. The identity extended beyond her own social media accounts. When Murdock appeared as a single on Netflix's Temptation Island in 2025, her occupation was listed as "PA school student." Then, earlier this month, she celebrated her supposed graduation, posing for photos outside Duke Chapel in her cap and gown.
Despite the life Murdock portrayed on her since-deleted Instagram and YouTube accounts, Duke says she never went there.
"We can find no record of a student by the name of Angel Murdock having applied to or attended the Duke Physician Assistant Program," Duke Health officials tell Yahoo.
