Silverdale
Silverdale, a city that exists in the northern Midwest of the United States at a time of invention in the early Industrial Revolution. The city, as it's name suggests, is famous for the large quantity of silver that feeds the ever growing demands of the young United States, but a secret war has also consumed the city as creatures of the night, Werewolves or to be specific, Goldenback Werewolves, have invaded the city trying to damage the cities precious silver supply while avoiding hunters, armed with weapons and silver bullets designed to destroy them.
In this chaos a young lady, by the name of Ruth McCartney is pulled into this mysterious reality, as she is attacked and then suspected of killing an alpha male in a male werewolf pack, who now want her head as vengeance for their fallen comrade.

Goldenback Werewolves
"Americus Lycanthropes"
Goldenbacks or also commonly called: The American werewolf, are different from that of the European lycanthropes that plagued Europe for centuries. Unlike their European cousins, Goldenbacks have golden to light brown fur instead of the usual dark brown or gray. Goldenbacks also have the ability to change into werewolves every night and are able to control their bodies under most circumstances but their strength much like the European Werewolf depends on the phases of the moon. Meaning a Goldenback will be much weaker on a new moon then a full moon, this is why most attacks occur on the usual phase of full moon, giving the illusion that werewolves only change in their wolf-like form on a Full Moon Night. Another special trait of the Goldenbacks is their packs, unlike European werewolves that are usually loners; Goldenbacks attack, communicate and live through packs, usually containing all same gender members and are led by an alpha male or female, though some co-ed groups have been found.

The Silver Circle
The Silver Circle, a group of elite hunters whose numbers are unknown. What is known is that it originated in Central Europe, by Kings and Lords tired of werewolves and other supernatural creatures attacking their villages in the early dark ages. Over time the group expanded and became more powerful. Until the early days of the Industrial revolution, when murders involving a newly discovered breed of werewolves, the Goldenback Werewolves, that prowled their way through the continents of both North and South Americas. Attacking towns and even large cities while remaining undetected as more and more of these events became frequent the United States government found it necessary to get it involved and by hiring the Silver Circle to protect them as they did the Europeans and immediately a task force was sent over to start a new branch of the group, and end the reign of terror these creatures of the night had over the Americas.

You set up a very interesting backdrop; one that I find quite appealing. The setting is great, and not an oft used one (all the better). As for the writing itself...

There are quite a few grammatical errors, which really breaks up the pace and ruins the scene you're trying to set. For example you use were instead of we're quite frequently, not a big thing, of course, but nevertheless its presence, to me, is distracting. The errors are mostly little things, and probably won't bother anyone but myself.

Overall it's pretty interesting, good luck with it.

Yeah my own editing sucks, but I assumed it wasn't that bad. Though as you said the little errors are something that I easily look over, so I will try to get my friends who are on the grammar police to edit it.

Thanks for the comment, Chapter 1 is in the works.

Chapter 1 - Ruth is online on my portfolio site.

Yeah I know really late, I actually let this story brew in my mind and it kind of was forgotten for a little but its back on. So I hope to have Chapter 2 done in a few, no promises though xD

The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
