Hey again!
I've started to work on a new project. This time it's a multiplayer scenario for guys who have Internet and wanna play something different than DotA or things. If you like Silent Hill and Resident Evil style horror games, then give it a try.

Title: SL Deteriorated - Survivors (protected)

Difficulty: Selectable
Maximum Players: 5
Minimum Players: 2
Demo2 Release: Within a week
Release Date: Unknown

Description: Five heroes, hundereds of enemies, one big city. Choose your character, catch up with your friends and survive the horror. Don't walk alone in the darkness if you want to stay alive...

You'll find...

Any idea what the characters are going to be? And could you tell us more of the game play, the way you attack, what classes, etc. And by looking at the screenies, are there gonna be any normal camera modes? I hate FPS style camera for Wc3.

About the characters and classes...

Player 1 - Tim Windtaker (melee) - Elite Guardian
Abilities:
Blades of Serenity (chance to stun the opponent and do extra damage to it)
Vial of Light (a grenade-like thing; slows down enemies in a small area)
Duel Stance (increases armor value and attack damage)
Throw Dagger (high amount of damage + stun)

Player 2 - Bess Farshine (ranged) - Rogue
Place Explosives (put down a timed bomb)
Evasive Moves (chance to evade enemy attacks)
Crippling Arrows (chance to stun)
Haste (move more quickly)

Player 3 - Darach Vern (melee) - Demon Hunter
Place Torch (put down a torch to see invisible objects)
Aura of Honor (increase attack damage of nearby teammates)
Covalescence (life regeneration)
Vial of Acid (grenade thingy too; reduces enemy armor)

Player 4 - Aiden Hills (melee) - Avenger
Sparks (decreases targeted unit's armor value)
Armor of the Hunter (passive; extra armor + damage reflection)
Encouragement (increases nearby teammates' attack damage and armor value)
Vial of Flame (the third grenade; napalm-like effect)

Player 5 - Xadyr (ranged) - Demon Half-Breed

Extra Abilities
Hide (makes the hero invisible; only works if it's in a hiding place)
Safe place (full hp regain; works only if the hero stands in a safe place)


Game play and camera mode...
Arrow key or mouse movement; there won't be normal cam mode :( .
You can't choose/change your hero's class. They are all original SL heroes :shades: .
Right click on enemies to attack them.


Things up there can change of course.

Eww, I hate having the camera move with your hero, it makes it hard for team play.

And Demon Hunter & Elite Demon Hunter o_O

Hmm...

The hero's abilities seem a bit bland, however, the terrain looks nice and such.

If you need help, I'm sorta open...

I await the demo map.

Yeah, more unique spells would be nice, since this is a hero centered game.

If you ever played NotD or Undead Assault 2, then you will know that normal view works fine.

Well there's a merchant in game so you can buy spell books from him. I'm sure you noticed that these (lets call them abilities) abilities I made are kinda passive/surviving ones. It's because in the world of SL ppl can not cast spells without the proper equipment.
As Kenny said the cam and movement system gives the right, horroristic feeling. I've changed the aquisition range of all heroes to 1, so they will only attack the enemy if u order them. It makes them easier to control in fps view.
And about the team play... Well the cam system will be the last thing that makes it harder. If anyone dies from your team, the whole party will loose. That purple globe you see in Tim's inv is the Linking Globe. It works as a walkie-talkie, and gives you an aura which gives your teammates (not self) a buff. If you loose this buff by walking too far from your friends, demons spawn and attack you.
So this game is about the teamplay. Without your team you are dead. Perhaps this scenario is a bit hard, but I've never made easy maps... :cool:

+ added zombie reincarnation system

The demo is almost complete so I'll need testers, who can play this on-line.

So you can't play it offline?
Requiring 5 players all the time is going to make it unplayable on bnet. Some people leave right when the countdown begins, once they see the game's view they will likely go 'OMG WTF THIS GAME SUCKS UR A NOOB *leave*' or just randomly leave.

So when there are 5 players in map, hostiles have 5 times the hp they had b4
and heroes receive 400% exp

Whenever a player leaves, one of the strenght mods will be removed, and the Heroes exp gain will be reduced by 60%

You have to set ar to 51, not to 1 - else it won't work.

Why do you even need 5 people? To solve certain puzzles?
If you need 5 people to solve puzzles, just do something like this
A player leaves
Give (varible unit, holds the player's hero) to (random player from (players still playing)

A unit is selected
Set triggering players selection to triggering unit (this makes it so the player can't control 2 heros at the same time)


have all heroes hotkey set to some common key, such as make them all workers.
I'm not sure if that would mess up your camera triggers.

I think this isn't a good idea too. you can do like that, but dont make it like that you can win ALL waves with 3 players...

edit: I just tried it on b.net: The movement system was wierd. You have to say ppl have to use arrow keys. it took a while to figure this out. Then we played. killed some zombies. Some barrels. (maybe some items oO) i killed one. then: darachs lHP is low. defeat. WTF?

Yea well it's pretty realistic so if u destroy a barrel of explosives it will explode, and if u r close to it ur hero too... There's a small gameplay manual next to a corpse at the begining, but the question is that: how will u pick it up if u don't know how to move? :rolleyes: Sry for that...
I'll fix all bugs as soon as I can, and upload a new version.

And about this...

Well ur right... The exp will remain at 100% to the end of the game, no matter what happens. (tho in the demo every hero starts on lvl 10)
