Slow loading.

I'm currently developing my map, but my map takes about 1~2 mins to load.
I use most of my time to wait the loading while testing my map. :banghead: . If i test my map 20 times, that means i will have to waste 2x20 mins :banghead: .

Is there a way to decrease the loading time??

Um if your spawning creeps at the start, you could spawn them with the elapsed time = .30 seconds instead of map intilization
event, that would help a little...

Use a program called Widgetizer(www.wc3campaigns.com) and Map Optimiser(here).

ive got no idea y on earth it would take that long to load, ive got tons and tons of custom units and items, as well as over 250 triggers, and lots of lines of custom codes, and mine takes no more then 15 secs

there is something very wrong with your map, although the optimizer should help it a bit, 2 minutes is absured, unless your comp is mega old, in which case there is your problem

cuz i know maps taht take like 20 secs on my comp will take 2 minutes on my old 800mhz comp

I have 512mb memory and 1.6Ghz comp, but it's loading's like crap.
i tried Widgetizer on my map, but it won't allow me to see the string in my map after optimized..

Use Widgetizer and Vexorian's utility in the following way:

1. Run widgetizer on the map, only widgetize (check) abilities, items, units, and upgrades.

2. Run Vexorian's utility with all recommended settings

That evades the issues encountered combining the two

Can you tell me more about the problem you had with the strings? Which strings? What happened to them?

why did you revive this month old post? The reason, may be because certain options in the map optimizer were checked. It may also cause the map to be unopenable, to prevent noobs from changing it, to say they made it.

fix any problems with the Widgetizer... his very own program.

You guys do no that if WC3 is not up while your loading it takes longer to load, it may even pause.

WEU doesn't hurt loading at unless your using lots of optional stuff like advanced triggers, upgrades and what ever is in there.
