is there a way to find it again....... in some temp files perhaps or somtehing

Can't get it back. If it did make a temporary backup, it would convert it to .tmp anyways, sorry.

My computer freezes often, and when I don't remember to save often, I always lose lots of my work. Sigh.

There is a solution for the future though. There is an option that allows you to autosave every so often. I use it, and it has helped me out at least once.

If you tested your map, even without saving, WE saves a temporary copy of it inside your warcraft directory, which still should be there.

SO go diggin, perhaps in your maps directory, and you may find it.

Well good for you. I haven't had any map accidents as of late, so I haven't been able to sympathize.

I suggest, besides going digging in your maps because you'll miss some data anyway (it throws you back a little ways to dig up a file that was saved hours to days ago), that you keep a constant "version" data in a notepad file. Basically it's for when you get your old file and think to yourself "ok, what did I lose?" Look in the notepad and, if you wrote it down correctly, might be a particular trigger.

1. This is a small example of why we hold the moderatorship belts.

2. I save maps in a pecular format.
name001.w3x
name002.w3x
name003.w3x

Etc. It does help in sorting out whats what. Saving new versions often prevents bad things from occuring, and allows you to roll back easier. Ryoko TD is on 028 now. When done, call it whatever you like when you upload it.
