Well, Godzilla is trucking along, and i have 7 finalised (well, mostly) monsters with custom abilities. 2 of them have custon soundfiles, and therein is my latest problem.
I've made one unit that i've set to use the KotoBeast sound set, and i've imported new sounds (with the names swapped so it changes the Koto beasts, as in KotoBeastPissed3 and whatnot). Now, i first did this a little while back, and one way or another, got it to work. Solo and multi.. i hosted it, and other people could hear the custom sounds too.
Now, i've just done it again (this time using a modified Tauren soundset) but no one else can hear the sounds. They work for me (though none of my imported 'death' sounds work). I set the custom path according to where the files are (as in, Units/Orc/Tauren/whatever) but they still won't work over the net. So, questions are as follows.
1. Why don't my custom 'death' (KotoBeastDeath1.wav) sounds work?
2. Do i -have- to use .wav? My sound folder is already topping 6 megs for just 2 sets.. can't i trick it into using .mp3 or some other format with actual compression? I don't want to sacrifice the audio quality to use crappy compression .wav's.
3. Why won't my newly imported Tauren soundset work over b.net? The map file size doesn't seem to jive with the size of my sound files, though i've imported them. As far as i know, i've done everything the same as i did last time, yet still no go.
Thanks once again.
