Crab Bisque Soup
This Crab Bisque soup recipe is totally delicious and easy to make.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb crab meat (preferably lump)
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups seafood broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- Large pot
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the mixture to slightly caramelize
- Pour in the seafood broth and bring to a gentle simmer
- Slowly stir in the heavy cream, ensuring a smooth consistency
- Gently fold in the crab meat, paprika, and fresh thyme and season with salt and pepper to taste
- Simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bisque thickens to your desired consistency
- Garnish with fresh parsley or a sprinkle of paprika, and optionally, add a pinch of red pepper flakes
