Custom Titles are given to users with over 75 Rep - that number could change but that is what we are using now.

Congrats again.

Don't count on it. We don't really need any more mods, I don't think.

Sorry :)

I am raising the Rep limit from 75 to 100. Users need at least 100 rep before they get a custom title. Also, at Custom Title the user can upload their own custom animated Avatar. Custom Title is what Special Member used to be without the SM Forum. All the extra attachment space, etc.

I like that idea. Personally, 75 rep is pretty easy to get if you're determinded, but it doesn't mean you deserve anything for it. 100 reputation points will suit the purpose better, and the extra attachment space is very nice. Same with the extra mail storage :)

But yea, good idea on changing it. Though just clarifying, because I have not been as up-to-date as I was... Does this system totally rely on reputation, or must there be a bit of an indication of good behavior? (Of course it wouldn't be members know to not obey the rules, I am guessing)

But as always, I am just wondering. Have a very nice day all. :)

I'm just curious -- did my custom title go away because I didn't sign on for a really long time? 'Cause I'm sure I had one before...

Actually, that could have happened but it looks like in this case your settings just got screwed up. I fixed it though and you should be good to go.

If you changed your e-mail, though, I think your 'class' would change to validate, so you couldn't use it.

AFAIK from vB forums.

I have increased the amount of space for attachments for Special Members to 10 megabytes from the 5 megabytes that was set before.

Bumping this thread from ancient to new.

Questions about the Custom Titles:

1. Once one gets at least 75 positive reputations, one will get one's name addressed right here, correct?
2. If I had 75 +reps, would there be a PM confirmination about this?
3. Would it automatically give out this feature to 75 +reps members?
4. If I post a screenshot, and that shot contains a Custom Title, would I get sued for trademark policy and the posting would be against the laws to do so?

Thanks in advance, though I really knew this is old already.

1. No
2. No
3. No
4. No

First, the Custom Title comes at 100 rep, not 75. That rule was changed long ago.
And you overestimate the importance of a Custom Title if you think that there's some copyright there. :p No one really cares that much. No need to worry.

Though this thread is a little "out of date" I just wanted to bump, and say thanks for the custom title, being able to use animated gifs, the extra mail space, and the bigger attachment space :D.

Edit: Is a certain amount of rep needed to get a signature?

Only mods/admins and some helpful/special members get sigs.

So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
