It's been quite some time from the last spell contest, so... here's a sequel!

SPELL CONTEST #2
from 15th of February to 1st of March
that's 2 weeks, still, as usual.

THEME:
FORBIDDEN ARTS​

Now, the theme might be a little bit confusing, so I'll list the meaning of forbidden, found from internet.

Forbidden - excluded from use or mention; "forbidden fruit"; "a taboo subject"; not allowed;


Something very prohibited, but done anyway in secret. It's up to you how to interpret it – a physical sneaky attack spell or some kind of dark sinister magic ability... It can be a spell that's cast on allies or enemies...


HOW TO JOIN:
We'll consider you "joined" when you have posted a spell in the submission thread.


GRADING:
Grading will be done in three different categories by me, Romek and GooS:

CODING (25 points) (Romek, Andrewgosu)
- Anything code related: how efficient, easy-to-read, leakfree the code is, etc.

JASS will not get you more points

GUI will not get you more points, either

MPI/MUI code will get you more points

APPEARANCE (20 points) (Romek, Andrewgosu, GooS)
- Anything related to the appearance of the spell: the „eye-candy“

Is it tasteful? Overdone? Or just random?


INTANGLIBLES (15 points) (Romek, Andrewgosu, GooS)
- Anything left from the two other categories

Is the spell unique and fun? is the tooltip written nicely and is it explanatory?



RULES:
- vJASS, Jass and GUI are all allowed
- Hybrid-code is not allowed (Converted GUI, pseudo locals)
- Custom script in GUI to remove leaks is allowed
- Imports are not allowed, excluding Vexorians caster model (found in the demo map)
- Attaching systems are allowed
- 1 submission per member, 1 member per submission
- Your spell must be made for this contest. No submitting previous works.

- the spell must be levelable, at least, 3 levels. Though, spells that work for n levels may get more points...


THE PRIZE:
The prize is a lot of reputation points. Plus general acknowledgement, respect...

The exact prize reputation amount: uhm...we'll see.

Is it alright to use NewGen? I don't know if I know enough jass to make a good spell but if I do use jass it will be on newgen.

Yes. Using Newgen is fine.

No imports anyway. So you'll have a hard time with that "pr0n".

I failed to see where the "does the spell fit the theme" comes in and how many points it is.Or would that be intanglibles?
I'm in,maybe this time I may actually finish a spell.

Yeah. Converted GUI code is so ugly that it's a pain to read. If we see converted GUI, we're not even going to bother reading it.

I don't see why not. As long as it's not "Make the spell for me", or anything similar.

The theme of this contest is quite loose to encourage fantasy rich spells.

However, if you feel like your spell doesn't fit the theme, you can always ask here.

No, but they're welcomed.

Very interesting choice of theme, hopefully I can get something done within the time-frame I have an idea in mind (which I was thinking about literally an hour or two before I saw this thread ). Hmmm, I guess we'll see how things fare out in time

Also, as regards the submission thread (for the sake of keeping it free of junk),

- You must use the demo map, which can be downloaded from the bottom of this post. For uniform sake.

The underlined part should be replaced with a link to the main contest thread (or else just 'the main contest thread'), since the demo map isn't actually at the bottom of the submissions post
