Spellbooks not accept Channel?

I'm using an item with the Spellbook ability. All the spells in the book are triggered, so, before I learned about Channel, I designed them all off of various non-targeted abilities (Taunt, Berserk, etc.), with no effects. All worked fine, until I learned about Channel, and re-did all of my abilities. None of the spells based off of Channel appear in the spellbook, and I don't know why. I'd like to know whether or not there's some reason Channel specificially doesn't fit in the spellbook.
Edit: Never mind, forgot to set the ^&%* ability to "Visible". Why doesn't Blizzard set Visible to the default?!?

    I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
