I want my abillity to stun the target for 10 sec, but whats the name of the trigger?? i cant find it, i looked all over the unit list but i cant find how to stun it.. i made the basic to death coil and changed the name to cruciatus so it is pretty like this:

Events:
A unit begins casting a spell

Conditions:
Abillity being casted equal to cruciatus

but where in the action list is stun unit???

There is none.

Make a new dummy ability from thunder bolt (hammer / stun) neutral hostile. Change it to have no cooldown. No mana cost. No damage.

Make a dummy unit based on the wisp. Remove all its abilities. Change the model file to none. Change the shadow to none. Add locust ability. Add Dummy Stun ability.

Then in your trigger, create 1 Dummy Unit at the position of the target. Orger last created unit to use the ability on the target. Wait 1.0 or whatever for the spell, and remove the dummy unit from the game.


--------OR--------
Create a special effect overhead the target unit using stun effect.
Pause the target unit.
Wait whatever duration.
Unpause the unit.
Remove last created effect.

You can also use the "Unit - Pause Unit" action.

Can't you just go in the Object Editor..
Look for Storm Bolt spell and change the next line :
Art - Missile Art
to DeathCoil..
I don't know why are you messing with the "dummy" stuff.. It's just dumb to mess with it ..

Err, because 'Storm Bolt' doesn't heal allied units, and damage undead units. And even if you make trigger conditions to hurt & heal units, Storm Bolt will still stun your allies.

'thunder bolt (hammer / stun)' from my post was a description of Storm Bolt without remembering the proper name. He throws a hammer.

Dumb? Do you know how many custom spells use dummy units? Hmmm.......
