A $65 MILLION musical version of Spider-Man was threatened with closure after an actor fell 30ft in the middle of a preview performance on Broadway.

Two theatergoers from Houston, who saw the accident happen Monday night during a performance of the Broadway musical, talk about the experience. (Dec. 21)
Chris Tierney, 31, suffered multiple broken ribs and substantial bleeding after a cable snapped during a stunt on Monday night. He is recovering in hospital and luckily he has avoided any serious neck or spine injuries.

It is the fourth such injury to beset Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and authorities swiftly moved to temporarily shut down the show, which is based on the Marvel comic book hero and features music by U2 singer Bono.

"The cause of the accident at last night's performance of Spiderman was, in fact, human error," Actors' Equity Association Maria Somma wrote in an email, without elaborating on the nature of the mistake.
