Standby and monitor...

Well when i leave my computer sit for awhile, you know the standby comes on, the monitor goes black... etc... Well i'm not very fond of screensavers, and when this happens it resets my screen area and color settings. Is there anyway to fix this other then putting standby at a later time?
 
which OS do you have.
Go to power management in control panel.
Choose "never" for all power schemes.
 
Well if you read my first post, i want to fix it without totally removing it, because i want standby to come on, i just don't wanna have to reset my settings everytime...
 
What video card do you have?
There's probably an option to "Preserve these settings."

Right click desktop --Go to properties--click advance--
Now click on the monitor tab.
See if the check box "reset display on suspend" is unchecked.
 
Video card - ATI 3D Rage Pro (used to have a GF2 until i found it was causing my lockup problems)

I think that reset display should do it, i'll have to test should work though. thx
