30 sec its long? omg...
its max time - avarege will be 15 sec!

Starcraft2's editor its just improved version of the WC3 editor
so you totally wrong - and i guaranty what 10% slower its MAX

you will see

*******************
tell ya, its EMPTY feature, even if blizzard make it - the WHOLE editor will be totally lag (LIKE Doom 3 Editor! heavy weight bustard)

so *test map* button is more useful...
(at least for 75% maps --- [ loading time 5 sec :D lolz] )

the Editor is pretty FAST and STABLE now, so no need to add into it some kind of garbage code, ok?

Just because you have a good computer doesn't mean that everyone else does. I'm sure that it could be a very useful feature, although I have no idea how it would work.

I want a function, which I can't name, and I realize it could be difficult or even impossible to actually add.

Anyway, the function I want is one I saw in the Doom3 Editor. -It let's you check what your map looks like, when you're still in the editor (so you don't have to start the map.)
-I want a function like that!
How would that work? You can allready check what your make looks like in wc3 w/o testing pretty much....

Better AI editor would be great, yes.

That's the problem, I don't know how it would work. :p
Maybe someone could make it work, somehow, though.. (I'm not the guy who's coding the editor!) ^^

What would it even do to make it so you can see your how your map would be without testing, though? Make all the triggers run and make it so you can control the units?

I was thinking some sort of list where you can choose what you want to run.
If you want to run a couple of triggers you add these to the list and choose where your camera should start and stuff like that.

I haven't thought this through really well, though. :p
The main idea is to open another window that will simulate whatever-you-need-to-check, without having to load the map every single time.

(I usually have to create a '-test' trigger, which sets everything and moves my hero to a certain location, to test cinematics and stuff like that. Takes a lot of time to get everything working. :p

If Possible Faster Input!
Or a option to bring the key bored input up even at the cost of possibly lagging the game.

Also multidimensional Arrays!

Holy Crap making tetris and my train game uses them but they don't exist. i have to use normal arrays and use a bit of logic to make them act like multidimensional arrays.

Maybe you can in jass but why not the GUI

What's an multidimensional Array?

Two Indexes for an array, instead of one.
In the editor, it wouldn't be as easy to set all of the contents of a multiboard or leaderboard in a single string array variable (for example). It's possible, but it's a little limiting.

MyArrayVariable[index1][index2]

Maybe you can in jass but why not the GUI

You can't in JASS.

I'll get some more ideas later.

You can create them by creating your own types.
JASS:
type first extends integer array[10]
type multidimensionalarray extends first[10]

Then just do this to create them.
JASS:
local multidimensionalarray mda = multidimensionalarray.create()

  • No GUI.
  • Extensive documentation and examples for the scripting language.
  • More powerful features for the scripting language (not likely, but hey).
  • Syntax highlighter, support for tab and auto-indenting.
  • Extensive API for getting/setting type game/data.
  • Soft-coded AI.

The rest can be at Blizzard's discretion.

Dont take mah GUI! I'd rather they just make a more advanced version of both, so niether of them have to rely on one another whatsoever.

They probably wouldn't remove GUI since blizzard themselves uses it for their campaigns (you can look in an MPQ).

I agree. Removing GUI would be bad, IMO though.

If there is no documentation for the scripting language, then yes to a GUI because otherwise, we can't find the functions unless we extract their native list or something.

  • No one is chatting at the moment.
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
