My brother recently got a new compter with Windows XP. I was going to load Starsraft, but instead of the normal install menu popping up for auto run it brought up an error message.
The title bar said "Install". At the bottem it had OK and Cancel buttons. The rest looked about like this:
This application has encountered a critical error:
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Program: F:\install.exe
File: F:\install.exe
Press OK to terminate the application.
I was hopping some one could tell me what this means and how to fix it. If you require more specific information (processor, memory, and so on) tell me and I'll supply you with it.
One time i did get in to the normal menu (don't know how I did, it just popped up, maybe i was pushing a botton or something) and began istalling it but after it got done with StarCraft.dat or something like that it would stop. It didn't freeze but just stoped. I tried that a few time and gave up because i had to go. So please, if any one has seen this or knows what to do I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Kro.
